Directing Exercise #2

I’m taking a 6-week directing workshop here at Columbia over the summer, and we just finished our second exercise. We had a week to adapt and produce one of 3 scripts, and we were supposed to shoot it ourselves, i chose a scene between Frank and Cora from Mamet’s “The Postman Always Rings Twice”. That said, when i read the script i had no idea what it was, so i made up a few details to make it fit into my vision a little better. I liked the result, so i thought i’d put it up on the site. A 4 minute scene starring the incomparable Debra Jan Moore and <name redacted> of SAG. Enjoy.

Took the Train to Brooklyn

Debi and i took the train to Brooklyn to wander around, eat some dinner, and play with our cameras. The train ride was pretty long, the dinner was horrible, but playing with cameras is always fun.

Last week I attended and took photographs of the funeral of Debi’s grandfather. Jay Johanek was a Colonel in the Air Force, and a full Military funeral in Arlington National Cemetery is really an impressive sight.
